Built the first rear-engined Offy Indy car of the modern era; built the first competively entered turbine car at Indianapolis; built the car that dominated Pikes Peak for a decade; built record-setting stock cars and served as Head Wrench for Tony Bettenhausen, Troy Ruttman, Jimmy Reece, Jud Larson, Jim McElreath and many other top drivers of the 50’s and 60’s, then “retired” to build a super modified that won over 100 races and off-road racers that won world-class events in the desert. Oh, yes, he’s also a driving champion in his own right. That’s all part of Denny Moore’s fascinating life.
